HEY COWPOKES AND HEIFERS!
The dag darnet damnest thing - Just came back from reapin' this years Beef tomato crop...This year's bunch are sure purty, but they're half the size of last year. Seems like the old man upstairs is playin' some kinda' hokum trick on me - Hmmmm, Y'all know they're half the size, but wouldn't ya' know there are TWICE as many red beefin' boogers as last year. Now let me set a spell and ask my fellow ranchers out there: What would YOU want? Bigger red beefin' boogers, or just more of the smaller ones? Just curious, that's all...Cowboy Mitch (of Cowboy Mitch and the Buckaroos who happen to be playin' a barn dance next Sunday in RVC- Tickets available now - sorry for the plug)

Actually, I'd be happy to have just one red tomato. No joke here. This was the worst tomato plant I have ever seen in my life. A few small green tomato's that never ripened, as opposed to 'all you can eat' huge red yummy beefsteaks all season long. I am not at all happy about it. Even the grape tomato's which started out promising have completely disappointed. Maybe pulled 5 good ones off of that plant. I did read that there was some disease plaguing the tomato crop on LI this year, but if you guys did pretty well then obviously it's not a complete explanation for what happened!
cheryl, that is weird...usually you leave me in the dust when it comes to vegetables, but i have to tell you, my tomatoes (grape and cherry) are coming in so fast and beautiful - it seems almost everyday i'm filling up a bowl with new red ripe tomatoes. i guess this is my year! sari
Oh, I can't bear hearing about this anymore. I am so UPSET!!! And I don't mind that you're finally having a good year, I just can't believe that I'm not :((
